How to Use

Dosage

Adults and adolescents over 12 years: 1 tablet, 1-2 times daily as needed.

Method

Take the tablets with or without food.

Important

Do not take more than 500 mg (2 tablets) per day.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Stomach pain, heartburn, feeling sick, constipation, diarrhea, vomiting, indigestion.
  • Headache, tiredness, dizziness, feeling lightheaded.
  • Vision problems, ringing or buzzing in the ears, hearing problems.
  • Worsening of heart failure (with swelling or shortness of breath).
  • Mouth inflammation, skin issues (itching, hives, red spots, bruises), increased sweating.
RARE
  • Increased potassium levels in the blood.
  • Mood changes, depression, difficulty concentrating, trouble sleeping, memory or thinking problems.
  • Pounding or racing heartbeat.
  • Bleeding or ulcers in the stomach/intestines, vomiting blood, bloody stools.
  • High liver enzyme levels, jaundice (yellowing of skin or eyes).
  • Menstrual cycle problems.
  • Inflammation of the optic nerve behind the eyeball.
  • Allergic reactions, including severe whole-body allergic reaction (anaphylaxis), sudden swelling of the face, throat, lips, tongue, and possibly hands and feet.
  • Worsening hearing, worsening asthma.
  • Liver inflammation.
  • Hair loss, sensitivity to light, skin changes with blisters.
  • Muscle pain, muscle weakness.
  • Cloudy film over the eye, inflamed or swollen optic nerve.
  • Abnormal blood test results, brain lining inflammation, worsening Parkinson's disease, blood vessel inflammation, lung inflammation, swollen salivary glands, pancreas inflammation.
  • Severe skin reactions (like peeling skin or blisters, e.g., Stevens-Johnson syndrome, erythema multiforme).
  • Blood in urine, kidney problems (like kidney failure, kidney inflammation).

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to naproxen, aspirin, other NSAIDs (painkillers that reduce inflammation), or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not take if you have a stomach or duodenal ulcer, or a history of bleeding or a hole in your digestive tract from taking NSAIDs.
  • Do not take if you have a bleeding disorder (like hemophilia) or are taking medicines to thin your blood (like warfarin).
  • Do not take if you have severe heart failure, severe kidney problems, or severe liver problems.
  • Do not take during the last three months of pregnancy.

  • Do not take if you have asthma.
  • Do not use other NSAID painkillers at the same time, as this increases the risk of serious side effects in the stomach and intestines.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category C

Suitable for older adults, with specific precautions. For short-term use only. Consider adverse renal effect in chronic kidney disease. Do not use in severe renal impairment. Increases swelling, worsens renal and heart failure and causes cardiovascular events. Increases risk of bleeding, especially in the gastrointestinal tract. Consider potential interactions especially with preparations that increase risk of bleeding. (updated 16.9.2024)
