How to Use

Dosage

One tablet daily.

Method

Swallow the tablet whole with liquid, at approximately the same time each day.

Important

Do not take a double dose in one day to make up for a missed tablet.

  • Erythema nodosum (painful red lumps under the skin), hives
  • Breast pain and tenderness
  • Edema (fluid retention)
  • Anxiety, decreased or increased sex drive
  • Migraine
  • Poor contact lens tolerance
  • Flatulence, vomiting
  • Excessive hair growth (hirsutism), acne
  • Muscle cramps
  • Missed periods, painful periods, changes in vaginal discharge, premenstrual syndrome, breast enlargement
  • Fatigue

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you have or have had breast cancer, or if it is suspected.
  • Do not use if you have or are suspected of having an estrogen-dependent cancer, such as uterine lining cancer.
  • Do not use if you have unexplained vaginal bleeding.
  • Do not use if you have untreated thickening of the uterine lining (endometrial hyperplasia).
  • Do not use if you have or have had a blood clot in a vein (e.g., in your leg or lungs).

  • Do not use if you have a blood clotting disorder.
  • Do not use if you have or have recently had a heart attack, stroke, or angina (chest pain due to blocked arteries).
  • Do not use if you have or have had liver disease and your liver function tests are still abnormal.
  • Do not use if you have a rare inherited blood disorder called porphyria.
  • Do not use if you are allergic to estradiol valerate or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Category D

The classification depends on the dosage form. Systemic use (for example estrogen patch, tablet, gel): Avoid use in older adults. In systemic use, consider potential adverse effects, such as risk of cardiovascular diseases and venous thromboembolism. Consider potential interactions.
