How to Use

Dosage

One tablet daily.

Method

Swallow the tablet whole with water, preferably at the same time each day.

Important

Maximum one tablet per day.

  • Excessive hair growth (hirsutism), acne
  • Muscle cramps
  • Missed periods, painful periods, changes in vaginal discharge, PMS-like symptoms

Important Warnings

  • Do not use Progynova if you have or have had breast cancer or another cancer that depends on estrogen.
  • Do not use Progynova if you have vaginal bleeding that has not been checked by a doctor.
  • Do not use Progynova if you have a blood clot or a problem with blood clotting.
  • Do not use Progynova if you have had a heart attack, stroke, or have severe liver disease.
  • Do not use Progynova if you are allergic to estradiol valerate or any other ingredient in this medicine.

  • Stop taking Progynova and call your doctor right away if you become pregnant, notice yellowing of your skin or eyes (jaundice), have signs of a blood clot (like painful leg swelling, sudden chest pain, or trouble breathing), or experience a severe allergic reaction (like swelling of your face or tongue, or difficulty breathing).

Use in Elderly Patients

Category D

The classification depends on the dosage form. Systemic use (for example estrogen patch, tablet, gel): Avoid use in older adults. In systemic use, consider potential adverse effects, such as risk of cardiovascular diseases and venous thromboembolism. Consider potential interactions.
