Primperan is a medicine that helps stop nausea and vomiting by working in your brain.
Typically 10 mg per dose, up to 3 times daily.
A doctor or nurse will give this medicine as a slow injection into a vein (over at least 3 minutes) or into a muscle.
The maximum dose per day is 30 mg or 0.5 mg per kilogram of body weight.
Avoid use in older adults. Reduce the dose already in mild renal impairment. Consider potential interactions especially with antipsychotics and dopamine agonists such as levodopa. Significant adverse effects include extrapyramidal symptoms and confusion. (updated 20.5.2024)
