Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to norethisterone or any other ingredient.
  • Do not use if you are pregnant, suspect you are pregnant, or are breastfeeding.
  • Do not use if you have or have had a blood clot (e.g., in legs, lungs, heart, or brain), a heart attack, or a stroke, or conditions that increase your risk for these.
  • Do not use if you have severe liver disease, a liver tumor, or certain cancers affected by hormones (e.g., breast cancer).
  • Do not use if you have Hepatitis C and are taking certain antiviral medicines (ombitasvir, paritaprevir, ritonavir, dasabuvir).

  • Contact a doctor immediately if you experience severe stomach pain, yellowing of the skin/eyes (jaundice), severe itching, very high blood pressure, or symptoms of an allergic reaction (e.g., swelling of face, tongue, throat, difficulty breathing, hives).
  • Stop taking Primolut N and contact a doctor immediately if you notice signs of a blood clot, such as unexplained cough, chest pain, shortness of breath, unusually severe or prolonged headache, vision changes, speech problems, weakness or numbness in any part of the body, or severe pain/swelling in a leg.
