How to Use

Dosage

The typical daily dose is 150-600 mg, as prescribed by your doctor.

Method

Take the capsules whole with water, either two or three times a day, as directed by your doctor. It can be taken with or without food.

Important

Do not exceed the dose prescribed by your doctor, usually up to 600 mg per day.

  • Liver inflammation (hepatitis)
  • Becoming dependent on the medicine

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to pregabalin or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • If you experience swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat, or a widespread skin rash, seek medical attention immediately. These could be signs of a serious allergic reaction.
  • Stop taking this medicine and see a doctor right away if you get severe skin reactions like red, target-shaped patches, blisters, or peeling skin (possible Stevens-Johnson syndrome or toxic epidermal necrolysis).
  • This medicine can cause dizziness and sleepiness, which may increase the risk of falls, especially in older adults. Be careful until you know how the medicine affects you.
  • This medicine may cause blurred vision, vision loss, or other temporary vision changes. Tell your doctor immediately if you notice any changes in your eyesight.

  • If you have diabetes and gain weight while taking this medicine, your diabetes medication may need to be adjusted.
  • If you are taking other medicines for pain or muscle spasms, you might experience increased sleepiness or other side effects. Combining these medicines can make side effects stronger.
  • Heart failure has been reported in some patients, mostly older adults with heart conditions. Tell your doctor if you have any heart problems before taking this medicine.
  • Kidney problems have been reported. If you notice less urination while taking this medicine, tell your doctor, as stopping the medicine might improve the condition.
  • Some patients taking this medicine have had thoughts of harming themselves or suicide. If you have these thoughts or behaviors, contact your doctor immediately.
  • If you take this medicine with other drugs that cause constipation (like some pain relievers), you might experience stomach problems like constipation or blocked bowels. Tell your doctor if you have constipation, especially if you are prone to it.
  • Tell your doctor if you have a history of alcohol, prescription drug, or illegal drug abuse or dependence, as you might be at a higher risk of becoming dependent on this medicine.
  • Seizures have occurred during or shortly after stopping this medicine. Contact your doctor immediately if you experience seizures.
  • Some patients have reported brain function problems, especially those with other serious illnesses like liver or kidney disease. Tell your doctor if you have any severe medical conditions.
  • Breathing difficulties have been reported. If you have nervous system or respiratory problems, kidney failure, or are over 65, your doctor may adjust your dose. Contact your doctor if you have trouble breathing or shallow breaths.
