How to Use

Dosage

The typical dose is 150–600 mg per day. Your doctor will tell you how many capsules to take.

Method

Take the capsules whole with water by mouth, either two or three times a day. If twice a day, take one in the morning and one in the evening. If three times a day, take one in the morning, one in the afternoon, and one in the evening.

Important

Do not take more than 600 mg per day unless your doctor tells you otherwise.

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to pregabalin or any other ingredients.
  • If you get swelling in your face, lips, tongue, or throat, or a widespread rash, seek medical help right away.
  • If you develop severe skin reactions like red spots, blisters, or skin peeling, stop taking the medicine and see a doctor immediately.
  • This medicine can make you dizzy or sleepy, which might cause falls, especially in older people. Be careful until you know how it affects you.
  • Tell your doctor immediately if you notice changes in your vision, like blurry sight or vision loss.

  • If you have heart problems, tell your doctor before taking this medicine, as it can worsen heart failure in some patients.
  • If you have kidney problems or notice less urine during treatment, tell your doctor.
  • If you have thoughts of harming yourself or suicide, contact your doctor right away.
  • If you have constipation, especially with other pain medicines, tell your doctor as this medicine can cause stomach problems.
  • If you have a history of alcohol, prescription drug, or illicit drug abuse, tell your doctor. You might be at a higher risk of becoming dependent on this medicine.
  • If you experience seizures, contact your doctor immediately. This can happen during or shortly after treatment.
  • If you have severe liver or kidney disease, tell your doctor. Some patients with other serious illnesses have reported brain problems.
  • If you have breathing difficulties or shallow breathing, contact your doctor. This is especially important if you have nerve problems, breathing problems, kidney failure, or are over 65.
  • Do not stop taking this medicine suddenly. If you stop, you might have withdrawal symptoms like trouble sleeping, headache, nausea, anxiety, or sweating. Talk to your doctor before stopping.
