How to Use

Dosage

Adults: 2 capsules twice a day. Children: 1 capsule twice a day.

Method

Swallow capsules whole. If needed, you can open the capsules and mix the contents with food or drink, but not with hot (over 50 °C), ice-cold, or alcoholic food/drinks.

Important

Adults: Maximum 4 capsules per day. Children: Maximum 2 capsules per day.

Possible Side Effects

RARE
  • Severe allergic reactions, including swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat which can make it hard to swallow or breathe, along with hives and difficulty breathing.
  • Severe blood infection (sepsis) or yeast in the bloodstream (fungemia), especially in patients with a very weakened immune system.
  • Constipation.
  • Thirst.
  • Skin rash or hives.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use Precosa if you are allergic to Saccharomyces boulardii, yeast, or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Do not use if you have a central venous catheter (a tube in a vein).
  • Do not use if you have a weakened immune system or are in the hospital due to a serious illness.
  • Do not use Precosa at the same time as antifungal medicines.
  • Contact your doctor immediately if you don't get better in 2-3 days or if your condition worsens.

  • Contact your doctor if you have a fever, nausea, bloody or slimy stools, or if you are very thirsty or have a dry mouth (a sign of dehydration).
