How to Use

Dosage

Usually, start with a small dose of 0.5 mg, taken two or three times a day.

Method

Take your first dose in the evening before bed. Take the tablets with plenty of liquid, like a glass of water. Take regularly at the same time each day. The tablet can be divided into equal doses.

Your doctor will decide the right maximum daily dose for you.

  • Hair loss or thinning
  • Lichen planus (a skin rash)
  • Difficulty holding urine (urinary incontinence)
  • Prolonged and/or painful erection

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to prazosin, other similar medicines (quinazolines), or any other ingredients in Pratsiol.
  • Tell your doctor if you have chest pain with effort (angina), heart failure due to a blockage, or kidney or liver problems.
  • Inform your doctor if you have narcolepsy or circulation problems in your brain.
  • If you are having cataract surgery, tell your eye doctor that you are taking or have taken Pratsiol, as it can cause complications.
  • Dizziness and lightheadedness can happen when you first start this medicine, especially if you are elderly. To help with this, take your first dose at night before bed.

  • Pratsiol is not recommended for children and adolescents under 18 years old.
  • Using Pratsiol with other blood pressure medicines or erectile dysfunction medicines can cause a severe drop in blood pressure. Tell your doctor about all medicines you are taking.
  • Pratsiol is generally not recommended if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.
  • This medicine may cause tiredness, dizziness, or lightheadedness, especially at the start of treatment or when standing up. Avoid driving or using machines if you experience these symptoms.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category D
