How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will decide your dose. You will start with a low dose, which will slowly be increased.

Method

Take tablets with water, with or without food. For Parkinson's disease, doses are usually divided into three equal parts daily. For restless legs syndrome, take it once a day in the evening, 2-3 hours before bed.

Important

The maximum daily dose for Parkinson's disease is 3.3 mg. For restless legs syndrome, it is 0.54 mg (0.75 mg pramipexole salt). Always follow your doctor's instructions.

  • Abnormal, uncontrolled movements

  • Hallucinations (seeing, hearing, or feeling things that aren't real)

  • Swelling, usually in the legs (fluid retention)

RARE
  • Paranoia (feeling overly worried about your health)
  • Delusions
  • Restlessness
  • Delirium (reduced awareness, confusion)
  • Excessive sleepiness during the day or suddenly falling asleep
  • Memory loss
  • Increased movements or inability to stay still
  • Fainting
  • Weight gain
  • Allergic reactions (like rash, itching)
  • Heart failure
  • Shortness of breath
  • Hiccups
  • Pneumonia
  • Mania (feeling overly excited or energetic)
  • Spontaneous erection
  • Depression, apathy, anxiety, tiredness, sweating, or pain after stopping or reducing the dose (withdrawal symptoms)

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to pramipexole or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • This medicine can cause you to see, hear, or feel things that are not real (hallucinations). Do not drive or operate machinery if you experience these.
  • This medicine can make you very sleepy or cause you to fall asleep suddenly, especially if you have Parkinson's disease. Do not drive or operate machinery if this happens.
  • Tell your doctor if you or your family notice you have a strong urge to act in unusual ways, like gambling, overeating, excessive spending, or unusual sexual urges.
  • Do not stop taking this medicine suddenly without talking to your doctor, as it can cause serious withdrawal symptoms.

  • Tell your doctor if you have kidney problems, as your dose may need to be adjusted.
  • You should have your eyes checked regularly during treatment.
