How to Use

Dosage

Take one 0.088 mg tablet three times a day, as directed by your doctor.

Method

Swallow the tablets whole with water, with or without food.

Important

The maximum daily dose is 3.3 mg of pramipexole.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Abnormal, uncontrolled movements (dyskinesia)
  • Feeling sleepy or drowsy

  • Difficulty sleeping (insomnia)

  • Strong urges to gamble, overeat, spend excessively, or have increased sexual thoughts/urges
  • Seeing, hearing, or feeling things that are not real (hallucinations)
  • Feeling confused
  • Restless legs symptoms getting worse, starting earlier, or spreading (augmentation)
  • Feeling restless
RARE
  • Feeling paranoid
  • False beliefs
  • Severe confusion, lower awareness, or impaired sense of reality (delirium)
  • Falling asleep during the day or suddenly
  • Memory loss
  • Increased movements or inability to stay still (hyperkinesia)
  • Fainting
  • Weight gain
  • Allergic reactions (e.g., rash, itching)
  • Heart problems (like shortness of breath or swollen ankles)
  • Shortness of breath
  • Hiccups
  • Lung infection (pneumonia)
  • Feeling agitated, overly excited, or having an elevated mood (mania)
  • Spontaneous erection

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to pramipexole or any other ingredient.
  • This medicine can make you very sleepy or cause you to fall asleep suddenly, especially if you have Parkinson's disease.
  • Do not drive or operate machines if you feel sleepy or have hallucinations (seeing, hearing, or feeling things that are not real).
  • Tell your doctor if you have strong urges to gamble, overeat, spend excessively, or have increased sexual thoughts or urges.
  • Do not stop taking this medicine suddenly without talking to your doctor, as it can cause serious side effects.

  • Tell your doctor if you have kidney disease, as your dose may need to be adjusted.
  • Be careful with alcohol or other calming medicines as they can make you more drowsy.
  • Have your eyes checked regularly during treatment for any changes in vision.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category C
