How to Use

Dosage

The usual starting dose is 0.26 mg once daily. Your doctor will slowly increase the dose every 5-7 days until your symptoms are controlled.

Method

Take one tablet once a day, around the same time, with or without food. Swallow the tablet whole with water. Do not chew, break, or crush it, as this can lead to an overdose.

Important

The maximum daily dose is 3.15 mg of pramipexole.

Possible Side Effects

  • Uncontrolled movements
  • Feeling sleepy

  • Nausea (feeling sick)
  • Strong urges to gamble, overeat, or shop excessively; increased sexual desires or thoughts
  • Seeing, hearing, or feeling things that are not real

  • Swelling, usually in the legs
  • Headache
  • Low blood pressure
  • Unusual dreams

RARE
  • Feeling paranoid (e.g., overly worried about health)
  • False beliefs
  • Feeling very sleepy during the day and suddenly falling asleep
  • Memory loss
  • Increased movements or inability to stay still
  • Weight gain
  • Allergic reactions (e.g., rash, itching)
  • Fainting
  • Heart problems (may cause shortness of breath or swollen ankles)
  • Hormone imbalance affecting water in the body
  • Feeling restless
  • Shortness of breath
  • Hiccups
  • Lung inflammation
  • Severe confusion or reduced awareness
  • Feeling agitated, overly excited, or high

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to pramipexole or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Tell your doctor if you have kidney disease.
  • You might see or hear things that are not real (hallucinations). If this happens, do not drive or use machines.
  • If you have Parkinson's disease and take levodopa, you might experience uncontrolled movements when the dose of Pramipexol Stada is increased.
  • You may feel very sleepy during the day or suddenly fall asleep. If this happens, do not drive or use machines. Tell your doctor.

  • Inform your doctor if you experience changes in behavior, such as strong urges to gamble, overeat, shop excessively, or have increased sexual desires. Also report if you become unusually excited (mania) or confused (delirium).
  • Your blood pressure should be checked regularly, especially at the start of treatment, to avoid a sudden drop when standing up.
  • Have your eyes checked regularly during treatment.
  • Parts of the tablet might pass into your stool and may look like whole tablets. Tell your doctor if you find tablet pieces in your stool.
  • Avoid taking this medicine with antipsychotic drugs.
  • Be careful with alcohol or medicines that make you sleepy, as they can affect your ability to drive or use machines.
  • Do not use if you are pregnant unless your doctor tells you to. Do not breastfeed while using this medicine.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category C

Suitable for older adults, with specific precautions. Sedative. Reduce the dose in moderately severe renal impairment. Common adverse effects include orthostatic hypotension, confusion, sudden episodes of deep sleep, impulse control disorders and lower limb edema.. . (updated 6.10.2025)
