How to Use

Dosage

The usual starting dose is one 0.088 mg tablet three times a day.

Method

Take the tablets with water, with or without food.

Important

The maximum daily dose is 3.3 mg.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Uncontrolled movements of the body
  • Feeling sleepy
  • Dizziness
  • Nausea (feeling sick) or vomiting
  • Feeling very tired
  • Trouble sleeping (insomnia)
  • Swelling, especially in the legs
  • Headache
  • Low blood pressure
  • Constipation
  • Blurred vision
  • Weight loss or decreased appetite
RARE
  • Feeling paranoid or having false beliefs
  • Memory loss
  • Weight gain
  • Allergic reactions like rash or itching
  • Fainting
  • Shortness of breath
  • Hiccups
  • Lung infection (pneumonia)
  • Extreme excitement (mania), confusion, or not knowing what's real (delirium)
  • Feeling depressed, anxious, tired, sweating, or having pain after stopping the medicine

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to pramipexole or any other ingredients.
  • This medicine can make you very sleepy or cause you to fall asleep suddenly. It can also cause you to see, hear, or feel things that are not real (hallucinations). If this happens, do not drive or use machines.
  • You or your family might notice unusual urges or behaviors, like gambling, overeating, excessive spending, or unusual sexual urges. Tell your doctor if this happens.
  • Do not stop taking this medicine suddenly without talking to your doctor, as it can make your symptoms worse or cause new, serious problems.
  • You could have low blood pressure when standing up, especially at the start of treatment. Your blood pressure should be checked regularly.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category C

Suitable for older adults, with specific precautions. Sedative. Reduce the dose in moderately severe renal impairment. Common adverse effects include orthostatic hypotension, confusion, sudden episodes of deep sleep, impulse control disorders and lower limb edema.. . (updated 6.10.2025)
