How to Use

Dosage

The recommended starting dose for adults and children over 12 years old to prevent motion sickness is 1 tablet.

Method

Take the first tablet 1 hour before you travel. If the first dose doesn't work well enough, you can take a second tablet after one hour. Take the tablet with water.

Important

The maximum daily dose is 2 tablets (50 mg) per day.

  • Difficulty emptying the bladder (urinary retention)
  • Tingling or crawling sensation on the skin
  • Double vision
  • Blurred vision
  • Low blood pressure
  • Stomach pain
  • Diarrhea
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Hives
  • Severe allergic reaction (anaphylactic shock)
  • Loss of appetite
  • Increased appetite
  • Anxiety, strong feeling of happiness, irritability
  • Balance problems
  • Dryness in nose and throat
  • Difficulty urinating
  • Weight gain

Important Warnings

  • Do not use Postafen if you are allergic to meclozine or any other ingredient in this medicine, or if you have severe liver problems.
  • Be extra careful if you have an enlarged prostate, problems with urinating, glaucoma (high pressure in the eye), narrowing of the stomach, muscle weakness (myasthenia gravis), dementia, epilepsy, or stomach/bowel problems.
  • Elderly people should use Postafen with caution, as they may be more sensitive to side effects like dry mouth, constipation, or difficulty urinating.
  • Stop taking Postafen 4 days before an allergy test, as it might affect the test results.
  • Do not use Postafen with medicines that slow down your brain and nervous system (CNS depressants).

  • Do not use Postafen with alcohol.
  • Do not drive or operate dangerous machines, as Postafen can make you sleepy and cause blurred vision.
  • If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning a pregnancy, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category D
