How to Use

Dosage

The usual starting dose is 4 mg once a day.

Method

Swallow the capsules whole with water. You can take them with or without food, at roughly the same time each day. Do not break, open, or chew the capsules.

Important

Your doctor will determine your maximum daily dose and may adjust it based on your health.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Shortness of breath
  • Lung infections
  • Flu-like symptoms
  • Tiredness due to low red blood cells (anemia)
  • Dizziness
  • Numbness, tingling, or burning in hands or feet (nerve damage)
  • Swelling of the body, including arms and legs
  • Skin rashes
  • Constipation
  • Diarrhea
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Stomach pain
  • Muscle cramps or muscle weakness
  • Bone or back pain
  • Trouble sleeping
RARE
  • Stroke
  • Liver inflammation (hepatitis), causing yellow skin/eyes, dark urine, and stomach pain
  • Tumor lysis syndrome, a condition where cancer cells break down quickly, leading to kidney problems
  • Underactive thyroid, causing tiredness, weight gain, and slow heart rate

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are pregnant, might be pregnant, or planning to get pregnant, as it can cause serious birth defects or even death of an unborn baby.
  • This medicine can increase your risk of blood clots in your veins and arteries. Your doctor may give you other medicines to prevent this.
  • Seek urgent medical help if you have swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat, or trouble breathing, as these could be signs of a severe allergic reaction.
  • Stop taking this medicine and contact your doctor immediately if you get a widespread rash, red skin, high fever, or flu-like symptoms, as these can be signs of severe skin reactions like DRESS or Stevens-Johnson syndrome.
  • Pomalidomide Stada may increase the risk of developing other types of cancer. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and risks of this treatment.

  • Tell your doctor right away if you notice changes in your vision, speech, strength (weakness in an arm or leg), balance, memory, or experience confusion, as these could be signs of a serious brain condition called PML.
