Plenvu is a laxative used by adults over 18 to clean out the bowels before a medical procedure that requires an empty bowel.

How to Use

Dosage

Drink 500 ml of the prepared solution for each of the two doses, along with an additional 500 ml of clear liquids, within 60 minutes for each dose.

Method

Mix each powder dose with water to make 500 ml of solution. Stir for about 8 minutes until dissolved. Drink this solution and the extra clear liquids alternately, about one glass every 10-15 minutes.

Important

The full treatment consists of two doses taken as directed by your doctor, either on the same day or split over two days, ensuring it's completed before your procedure.

Important Warnings

  • Do not take Plenvu if you are allergic to any of its ingredients, or if you have a blocked bowel, a hole in your stomach or bowel, paralyzed bowel, or problems emptying your stomach.
  • Do not take Plenvu if you have phenylketonuria or cannot produce enough glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase.
  • Tell your doctor if you have heart or kidney problems, dehydration, swallowing issues, or have had seizures.
  • Do not drink alcohol, milk, red or purple liquids (like blackcurrant juice), or any drinks with fruit pulp.
  • Do not eat anything while taking Plenvu until your medical procedure is over.

  • Stop drinking all liquids 1-2 hours before your procedure, depending on the type of anesthesia you will receive.
  • If you don't have a bowel movement within 6 hours of taking Plenvu, stop using it and contact your doctor right away.
  • Stop taking Plenvu and call your doctor immediately if you have signs of a severe allergic reaction (like extreme tiredness, fast heartbeat, rash, itching, trouble breathing, or swelling of face/ankles/other body parts) or if you have a seizure.
  • Tell your doctor right away if you feel dizzy, have a headache, pee less often, or vomit, as these could be signs of dehydration.
  • Contact your doctor immediately if you have sudden, severe stomach pain, rectal bleeding, or bloody vomit with chest or neck pain.
