Plendil lowers blood pressure by widening small blood vessels and is used to treat high blood pressure and chest pain caused by exertion or stress.
The usual starting dose is 5 mg once a day; for long-term treatment, the dose is typically 5-10 mg once a day.
Take the tablet in the morning with water. Do not split, crush, or chew the tablet. You can take it with or without a light, low-fat meal.
The maximum daily dose is usually 10 mg once a day.
Suitable for older adults. Significant adverse effects include ankle oedema and orthostatic hypotension. Consider potential interactions. Avoid grapefruit. (updated 17.2.2025)
