How to Use

Dosage

Apply 1–3 g (1.5–4.5 cm) of gel to the painful area.

Method

Gently rub the gel into the skin until it's fully absorbed. Do not cover the treated area with bandages.

Important

Do not use more than 4 times a day.

  • Reactions at the application site
RARE
  • Contact dermatitis
  • Photosensitivity reactions
  • Skin discoloration
  • Staining of clothes (if gel is not rubbed in properly)
  • Life-threatening skin reactions (such as Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis)
  • Fixed drug eruption (round or oval red patches with swelling)
  • Blisters (hives)

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to piroxicam or any other ingredients, or if you have previously had an allergic reaction to aspirin or other anti-inflammatory pain relievers.
  • Do not use on broken or inflamed skin, in eyes, or on mucous membranes.
  • Do not use during the last trimester of pregnancy. Consult a doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant.
  • If you develop a rash or other skin symptoms, stop use immediately and contact a doctor.
  • Do not use with non-breathable bandages or dressings.

  • Not recommended for children under 12 years of age.
  • If you have previously experienced Stevens-Johnson syndrome or toxic epidermal necrolysis with piroxicam, you must never use Piroxin gel again.

Category A
