How to Use

Dosage

From day 15 onwards, take 801 mg (3 yellow tablets or 1 dark pink tablet) three times a day.

Method

Swallow tablets whole with water, with or after a meal, to reduce side effects like nausea and dizziness.

Important

The maximum total daily dose is 2403 mg.

  • Low sodium levels in the blood, which can cause headache, dizziness, confusion, weakness, muscle cramps, nausea, or vomiting
  • Reduced white blood cell count in blood tests

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to pirfenidone or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Stop taking this medicine and seek immediate medical help if you experience signs of a severe allergic reaction, such as swelling of your face, lips, or tongue, itching, hives, or trouble breathing.
  • Do not take this medicine if you are currently taking fluvoxamine (a medicine for depression or obsessive-compulsive disorder).
  • Do not take this medicine if you have severe or advanced liver disease.
  • Do not take this medicine if you have severe kidney disease requiring dialysis.

  • This medicine can make you more sensitive to the sun. Avoid sunlight (including sunlamps) and use sunscreen daily, wearing protective clothing to cover your arms, legs, and head.
  • Stop smoking before starting and during treatment with this medicine, as smoking can reduce its effectiveness.
  • This medicine can cause dizziness and tiredness. Be careful if you need to do tasks that require focus and good coordination, like driving or operating machinery.
  • This medicine can cause serious liver problems. Your doctor will do blood tests before and regularly during your treatment to check how your liver is working.
  • Severe skin reactions like Stevens-Johnson syndrome or DRESS syndrome have been reported. If you notice any serious skin reactions (e.g., red or blistering spots, peeling skin, fever, swollen lymph nodes), stop taking this medicine and seek immediate medical attention.
