This medicine is an antibiotic used to treat serious bacterial infections in the body, including infections in the lungs, urinary tract, abdomen, skin, and blood.
The usual dose for adults and children over 12 is 4 g/0.5 g of piperacillin/tazobactam given every 6 to 8 hours. Your doctor will determine your exact dose.
This medicine is given to you by a doctor or nurse as a drip (infusion) into a vein, usually over 30 minutes.
Up to 16 g/2 g (piperacillin/tazobactam) per day for adults and children over 12, as determined by your doctor.
