How to Use

Method

This medicine is given directly into your bloodstream using a special machine for continuous kidney replacement therapy or hemodialysis.

Important

For adults, the total fluid volume processed during continuous kidney replacement therapy is usually about 48 to 60 liters per day.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use Phoxilium if you have too much potassium, bicarbonate, or phosphate in your blood.
  • Do not use this treatment if kidney damage symptoms cannot be fixed, if blood vessel pressure is too low, or if you have a high risk of bleeding.
  • Always tell your doctor, pharmacist, or nurse about all medicines you are taking, even over-the-counter ones.
  • Your doctor or nurse will regularly check your blood levels during treatment to ensure your safety.
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, this medicine should only be used if your doctor says it's absolutely necessary.
