Perxine cream is used to treat scabies in adults, teens, and children aged 2 months and older.

How to Use

Dosage

Adults and teens over 12 years: Apply up to 30 grams (one 30g tube). Children 6-12 years: Apply up to 15 grams (half a 30g tube). Children 2 months-5 years: Apply up to 7.5 grams (quarter of a 30g tube).

Method

Gently spread a thin layer of cream over the skin. Leave it on for 8 to 14 hours, usually overnight. Do not bathe or shower during this time. After 8-14 hours, wash your skin with soap and water. If you wash your hands during treatment, reapply cream to them.

Important

Only one application is typically needed. Do not exceed the dosage for your age group in a single day (30g for adults/teens, 15g for children 6-12, 7.5g for children 2 months-5 years).

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Itching, red skin, unusual skin feelings (like tingling, stinging, or burning), and dry skin.
RARE
  • Headache.
  • Skin sores (scratches), inflamed hair roots, and less skin color.
  • Allergic skin reactions like itching, redness, blisters, or hives. Nausea.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to permethrin, other pyrethrins, or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • This medicine is only for use on skin. Do not swallow it.
  • The cream can irritate your eyes. Avoid contact with eyes, nose, throat, genitals, or open wounds. If contact happens, rinse well with water right away.
  • Perxine is bad for all insects, cats, and aquatic animals like fish. Keep animals away from the cream. Make sure it doesn't get into fish tanks or reptile enclosures.
  • This cream might make asthma or eczema worse.

  • Do not use Perxine on newborns or babies under 2 months old unless your doctor says so. Babies up to 23 months old need close medical care when using this medicine.
  • If you are allergic to chrysanthemums or other Compositae plants, talk to your doctor before using Perxine.
  • If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, planning to get pregnant, or think you might be pregnant, ask your doctor for advice before using this medicine. The active ingredient in Perxine can pass into breast milk. Do not breastfeed for five days after using Perxine for safety.
  • Other ingredients in the cream might make latex products (like condoms) less effective.
  • Cetostearyl alcohol and sorbic acid in the cream can cause skin reactions like contact rash.
