Permethrin Aspire cream is used to treat scabies in adults and children older than 2 months.

How to Use

Dosage

Adults and teenagers over 12 years: up to one whole tube. Children 6-12 years: up to half a tube. Children 2 months to 5 years: up to a quarter of a tube.

Method

Open the tube by turning the cap upside down and pressing. Apply the cream to clean, dry, and cool skin over the whole body, including the neck, face, ears, and scalp (avoid eyes). Remember to apply under nails, between fingers and toes, and in skin folds. Wash off the cream after 12 hours. Repeat the treatment 7-14 days later. Wash clothes and bedding at 60 °C or put them in a sealed bag for at least 3 days.

Important

Adults should not use more than two tubes in a single application.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Unusual skin sensations, such as tingling, prickling, or a burning feeling.
RARE
  • Eczema, rash, redness.
  • Skin prickling.
  • Hives, itching.
  • Itching, burning sensation, fluid retention.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to permethrin, other pyrethrins, or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • If you have a rash treated with corticosteroids, as there is a risk of scabies worsening.
  • If you are allergic to chrysanthemums or other Compositae plants, talk to your doctor before use.
  • For external use only. Avoid getting the cream in your eyes. If cream gets into your eyes, rinse them with plenty of water.
  • Caregivers applying permethrin should use protective gloves.

  • Do not use on babies under 2 months unless directed by a doctor, and treatment for children under 23 months must be closely monitored by a doctor.
  • Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to have a baby.
  • Contains butylhydroxytoluene (E321), which may cause local skin reactions or irritation to eyes and mucous membranes.
  • Contains methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E218) and propyl parahydroxybenzoate, which may cause allergic reactions (possibly delayed).
  • Contains lanolin and cetostearyl alcohol, which may cause local skin reactions.
