How to Use

Dosage

Usually one tablet per day.

Method

Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water, preferably at the same time each day, in the morning before a meal.

Important

One tablet per day, as prescribed by your doctor.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Swelling (fluid retention in the body)
  • Headache
  • Dizziness
  • Drowsiness (especially at the start of treatment)
  • Vertigo (spinning sensation)
  • Numbness or tingling sensation in limbs
  • Vision problems (including double vision)
  • Tinnitus (ringing in the ears)
  • Palpitations (awareness of your own heartbeat)
  • Flushing (redness of face and neck)
  • Dizziness due to low blood pressure
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Stomach pain
  • Taste disorders
  • Indigestion or upset stomach
  • Changes in bowel habits, diarrhea, constipation
  • Allergic reactions (such as rashes, itching)
  • Muscle cramps
  • Tiredness
  • Weakness
  • Swelling of ankles (edema in limbs)
RARE
  • Mood changes, anxiety, depression, difficulty sleeping, or sleep disorders
  • Tremor, fainting, or loss of pain sensation
  • Irregular heartbeat, runny or stuffy nose, hair loss, red spots or discoloration of the skin
  • Back pain, joint pain, muscle pain, chest pain
  • Urination problems, increased need to urinate at night or more frequently, pain
  • Feeling unwell, bronchospasm (chest tightness, wheezing, and shortness of breath), dry mouth
  • Angioedema (swelling of face or tongue causing breathing difficulties), skin blistering
  • Kidney problems, impotence, increased sweating, high count of eosinophils (a type of white blood cell)
  • Chest discomfort or breast enlargement in men, weight gain or loss
  • Fast heartbeat (tachycardia), vasculitis (inflammation of blood vessels)
  • Increased sensitivity to sunlight (photosensitivity), fever, falls
  • Abnormal lab results (high potassium, low sodium, low blood sugar in diabetics, high urea and creatinine in blood)
  • Acute kidney failure
  • Symptoms of SIADH (dark urine, nausea, vomiting, muscle cramps, confusion, seizures, or very little to no urine production)
  • Worsening of psoriasis
  • Abnormal lab results (increased liver enzymes, high bilirubin in blood)
  • Heart and blood vessel problems (like angina, heart attack, or stroke)
  • Eosinophilic pneumonia (a rare type of lung inflammation)
  • Severe skin reactions (like widespread rash, hives, severe itching, blisters, peeling skin, swelling, inflammation of mucous membranes like Stevens-Johnson syndrome, or erythema multiforme which starts as red, itchy patches)
  • Changes in blood cell counts (decrease in white and red blood cells, low hemoglobin, low platelets)
  • Pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas, causing severe stomach and back pain with feeling very unwell)
  • Liver problems (abnormal function, hepatitis, yellowing of skin/eyes (jaundice), increased liver enzymes)
  • Nerve disorders (causing weakness, tingling, or numbness), increased muscle tone, swollen gums, high blood sugar

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to perindopril, amlodipine, any other ACE inhibitor, calcium channel blocker, or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Do not take if you are more than 3 months pregnant; it is also best to avoid this medicine in early pregnancy.
  • Do not take if you have had severe allergic reactions (like swelling of face, tongue, or throat, or difficulty breathing) with ACE inhibitors before, or if you or a family member have had such reactions (angioedema).
  • Do not take if you have diabetes or kidney problems and are taking a blood pressure-lowering medicine that contains aliskiren.
  • Do not take if you have a narrowed aortic heart valve (aortic stenosis) or cardiogenic shock (a condition where your heart cannot pump enough blood).

  • Do not take if you have very low blood pressure.
  • Do not take if you have heart failure after a heart attack.
  • Do not take if you are on dialysis or any other blood filtration treatment, as this medicine might not be suitable depending on the equipment used.
  • Do not take if you have kidney problems with narrowed kidney arteries (renal artery stenosis).
  • Do not take if you are taking or have recently taken a combination medicine containing sacubitril and valsartan (for chronic heart failure), as this increases the risk of angioedema.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category C

Suitable for older adults, with specific precautions. Reduce the dose in moderately severe renal impairment. Monitor renal function and potassium concentrations during the pharmacotherapy. Avoid concurrent use of NSAIDs. (updated 14.4.2025)
