How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will decide your dose, but it is usually one tablet per day.

Method

Swallow the tablet with a glass of water in the morning before food, ideally at the same time each day.

Important

Do not take more than one tablet per day, unless your doctor tells you otherwise.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Swelling (fluid retention)
  • Headache
  • Dizziness
  • Drowsiness (especially at the start of treatment)
  • Spinning sensation (vertigo)
  • Numbness or tingling in limbs
  • Vision problems (including double vision)
  • Ringing in the ears (tinnitus)
  • Heart palpitations (feeling your heartbeat)
  • Flushing of the face and neck
  • Light-headedness due to low blood pressure
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath
  • Nausea, vomiting, stomach pain
  • Taste changes
  • Indigestion or digestive problems
  • Changes in bowel habits (diarrhea, constipation)
  • Allergic reactions (like rashes, itching)
  • Muscle cramps
  • Tiredness, weakness
  • Swelling of ankles (peripheral edema)
RARE
  • Mood changes, anxiety, depression, sleeplessness, sleep disturbances
  • Tremors, fainting, loss of pain sensation
  • Irregular heartbeat
  • Blocked or runny nose (rhinitis)
  • Hair loss, red patches on skin, skin discoloration
  • Back pain, joint pain, muscle pain, chest pain
  • Urination problems, increased need to urinate at night, frequent urination
  • Pain, feeling unwell
  • Bronchospasm (tight chest, wheezing, shortness of breath)
  • Dry mouth
  • Angioedema (swelling of face or tongue, wheezing)
  • Skin blisters
  • Kidney problems, impotence, increased sweating
  • Increased eosinophils (a type of white blood cell)
  • Chest discomfort or breast enlargement in men
  • Weight gain or loss
  • Fast heartbeat (tachycardia)
  • Blood vessel inflammation (vasculitis)
  • Photosensitivity (increased skin sensitivity to sunlight)
  • Fever, falls
  • Altered lab values (high potassium, low sodium, low blood sugar in diabetics, increased urea and creatinine in blood)
  • Acute kidney failure
  • Symptoms of SIADH (dark urine, nausea, vomiting, muscle cramps, confusion, seizures, decreased/no urine output)
  • Worsening of psoriasis
  • Altered lab values (increased liver enzymes, high bilirubin)
  • Heart and blood vessel problems (angina, heart attack, stroke)
  • Eosinophilic pneumonia (a rare type of lung infection)
  • Swelling of eyelids, face, lips, tongue, or throat causing severe breathing difficulties
  • Severe skin reactions (severe rash, hives, redness all over body, severe itching, blisters, peeling, swollen skin, mucous membrane inflammation (Stevens-Johnson syndrome), erythema multiforme)
  • Light sensitivity
  • Altered blood counts (low white/red blood cells, low hemoglobin, low platelets), blood disorders
  • Inflammation of the pancreas (severe abdominal/back pain with severe nausea)
  • Abnormal liver function, hepatitis, yellow skin (jaundice), increased liver enzymes affecting tests
  • Abdominal swelling (gastritis)
  • Nerve disorder (weakness, tingling, numbness), increased muscle tension
  • Gum swelling
  • Too much sugar in blood (hyperglycemia)
  • Tremors, rigid posture, reduced facial expression, slow movements, shuffling gait, discolouration, numbness and pain in fingers or toes (Raynaud's phenomenon)

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to perindopril, amlodipine, other ACE inhibitors or calcium channel blockers, or any other ingredients.
  • Do not take this medicine if you are more than 3 months pregnant. It is also best to avoid use in early pregnancy.
  • Do not take this medicine if you have had angioedema (swelling of the face, tongue, or throat) with a previous ACE inhibitor or for other reasons.
  • Do not take this medicine if you have diabetes or kidney problems and are taking aliskiren (another blood pressure lowering medicine).
  • Do not take this medicine if you are taking or have recently taken sacubitril/valsartan (a medicine for heart failure), as it increases the risk of angioedema.

  • If you experience sudden wheezing, chest pain, shortness of breath, swelling of your eyelids, face, lips, tongue, or throat, severe skin reactions, severe dizziness, fainting, heart attack, or inflammation of the pancreas (severe stomach/back pain), stop taking this medicine and tell your doctor immediately.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category C

Suitable for older adults, with specific precautions. Reduce the dose in moderately severe renal impairment. Monitor renal function and potassium concentrations during the pharmacotherapy. Avoid concurrent use of NSAIDs. (updated 14.4.2025)
