How to Use

Dosage

The typical dose is 2-4 mg of perindopril once daily, which can be increased to 8 mg if necessary.

Method

Take the tablet with a glass of water, preferably in the morning before breakfast. The tablet can be divided into equal doses.

Important

The maximum daily dose is 8 mg of perindopril.

  • Spinning sensation (vertigo)
  • Tingling or prickling sensation in hands or feet
  • Vision disturbances
  • Ringing in the ears (tinnitus)
  • Cough

  • Uncomfortable feeling in the stomach (indigestion)
  • Diarrhoea
  • Constipation
  • Allergic reactions (e.g., rash, itching)
  • Muscle cramps
  • Fatigue
RARE
  • Too many eosinophils (a type of white blood cell) in the blood
  • Mood or sleep disturbances
  • Depression
  • Drowsiness
  • Fainting
  • Palpitations
  • Fast heartbeat (tachycardia)
  • Vascular inflammation (vasculitis)
  • Dry mouth
  • Increased sensitivity of skin to sunlight (photosensitivity reaction)
  • Severe itching or severe rash
  • Blisters on the skin
  • Sweating
  • Joint pain
  • Muscle pain
  • Impotence
  • Chest pain
  • Feeling unwell (malaise)
  • Swelling of the limbs (peripheral edema)
  • Fever
  • Increased potassium levels in the blood, reversible upon stopping medication
  • Low blood sodium levels
  • Very low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) in diabetics
  • Increased blood urea and creatinine levels
  • Falls
  • Flushing
  • Decreased or absent urine production
  • Acute kidney failure
  • Worsening of psoriasis
  • Dark urine, nausea, vomiting, muscle cramps, confusion, and seizures
  • Increased liver enzymes, high bilirubin levels
  • Confusion
  • A rare type of lung inflammation (eosinophilic pneumonia)
  • Rhinitis (stuffy or runny nose)
  • Changes in blood cell counts (e.g., low white or red blood cells, low hemoglobin, low platelets)
  • Discoloration, numbness, and pain in fingers or toes (Raynaud's phenomenon)

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to perindopril, any other ingredient in this medicine, or any other ACE inhibitor.
  • Do not use if you have had a severe allergic reaction (angioedema) involving swelling of the lips, face, neck, hands or feet, wheezing, or hoarseness with a previous ACE inhibitor medicine.
  • Do not use if you or a family member has ever had angioedema for any other reason.
  • Do not use if you are more than 3 months pregnant. This medicine should also be avoided during early pregnancy.
  • Do not use if you have diabetes or kidney problems and are taking a blood pressure-lowering medicine containing aliskiren.

  • Do not use if you are taking or have recently taken a sacubitril/valsartan combination for heart failure, as it increases the risk of angioedema.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category C

Suitable for older adults, with specific precautions. Reduce the dose in moderately severe renal impairment. Monitor renal function and potassium concentrations during the pharmacotherapy. Avoid concurrent use of NSAIDs. (updated 14.4.2025)
