How to Use

Dosage

The usual starting dose is 2 mg or 4 mg once a day, depending on your condition and age. Your doctor will adjust the dose for you.

Method

Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water, preferably at the same time each day, in the morning before breakfast.

Important

The maximum daily dose is 8 mg for high blood pressure and stable coronary artery disease, and 4 mg for heart failure.

  • Feeling weak
  • Low blood pressure
RARE
  • Mood changes
  • Sleep problems
  • Dry mouth
  • Severe skin reactions or blistering skin
  • Kidney problems
  • Impotence
  • Increased sweating
  • Fainting or drowsiness
  • Fast heartbeat or palpitations
  • Joint pain, muscle pain, or chest pain
  • Feeling generally unwell or fever
  • Changes in blood tests (e.g., potassium, blood sugar)
  • Depression or confusion
  • Reduced or no urine production
  • Cold, numb fingers or toes (Raynaud's phenomenon)

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to perindopril or any other ACE inhibitor, or if you have had swelling of the face, tongue, or throat (angioedema).
  • Do not take if you are more than 3 months pregnant, or if you plan to become pregnant.
  • Do not take if you have diabetes or kidney problems and are taking a blood pressure-lowering medicine called aliskiren.
  • Do not take if you are taking a combination medicine containing sacubitril and valsartan for chronic heart failure, as it increases the risk of angioedema.
  • This medicine is not recommended for children and adolescents under 18 years of age.

  • This medicine may cause dizziness or tiredness, so do not drive or use machines if you feel this way.
  • Do not stop taking this medicine without talking to your doctor first.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category C

Suitable for older adults, with specific precautions. Reduce the dose in moderately severe renal impairment. Monitor renal function and potassium concentrations during the pharmacotherapy. Avoid concurrent use of NSAIDs. (updated 14.4.2025)
