How to Use

Dosage

Chew one tablet thoroughly when you have heartburn or indigestion.

Method

Chew the tablet well. If you can, drink a glass of water to help swallow.

Important

Do not take more than 2 tablets in one day. Do not use for more than 2 weeks.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Headache.
RARE
  • Swelling of the face, tongue, or throat, which can cause trouble swallowing; hives and difficulty breathing.
  • Severe allergic reaction that causes breathing problems or dizziness.
  • Severe skin damage (painful red areas, then large blisters, and skin layers may peel off).
  • Nausea.
  • Vomiting.
  • Dizziness.
  • Belching.
  • Tingling and numbness.
  • Diarrhea.
  • Flatulence.
  • Dry mouth.
  • Stomach bloating.
  • Nervousness.
  • Indigestion.
  • Thirst.
  • Stomach ache.
  • Sore throat.
  • Taste disturbances.
  • Abdominal distension (feeling of fullness in the stomach).
  • Rash.
  • Itching.
  • Drowsiness.
  • Hives.
  • Unusual tiredness or weakness.
  • Lack of strength.
  • Liver problems or abnormal liver test results.
  • Nervous system disorders like hallucinations, confusion, sleep problems, seizures, drowsiness, agitation, and depression.
  • Blood disorders, such as fewer platelets, red, or white blood cells.
  • Muscle cramps.
  • Impotence, decreased sexual desire, and breast tenderness.
  • Hair loss.
  • General feeling of being unwell.
  • Changes in how often you have bowel movements and their consistency, abdominal bloating, and feeling full.

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to famotidine, magnesium hydroxide, calcium carbonate, or any other ingredient in Pepcid Duo.
  • Do not take if you have severe kidney problems.
  • Do not take if you are allergic to other medicines that reduce stomach acid (H2-antagonists).
  • Stop using Pepcid Duo and see a doctor right away if you get new symptoms.
  • Stop using Pepcid Duo and see a doctor right away if you have trouble swallowing.

  • Do not give this medicine to children under 16 years old.
