How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will calculate the right dose for you, usually 500 mg per square meter of your body surface.

Method

This medicine is given as a drip into your vein (infusion), which takes about 10 minutes.

Important

You will usually receive this infusion once every 3 weeks.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Infection
  • Feeling tired (low red blood cells), getting infections easily (low white blood cells), or bruising/bleeding easily (low platelets)
  • Soreness, redness, swelling, or sores in your mouth
  • Feeling sick (nausea), throwing up (vomiting), or loose stools (diarrhea)
  • Skin rash or peeling skin
  • Feeling very tired or weak
  • Not feeling hungry
  • Fever
  • Losing too much body fluid (dehydration)
  • Blood tests showing kidney or liver problems
RARE
  • Stroke or heart attack
  • Blood clots in your lungs (pulmonary embolism)
  • Very bad allergic reaction that can be life-threatening
  • Very serious skin problems like Stevens-Johnson syndrome or toxic epidermal necrolysis, which can be life-threatening
  • Serious kidney damage, including a rare type of diabetes related to kidney issues
  • Inflammation of your gut or lungs if you also had radiation therapy

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to pemetrexed or any other part of this medicine.
  • Do not breastfeed while taking Pemetrexed EVER Pharma.
  • Tell your doctor if you recently had or will get a yellow fever vaccine.
  • Tell your doctor if you have kidney problems, as this medicine might not be right for you.
  • You will have regular blood tests to check your blood cells and how well your kidneys and liver are working. Your dose might change based on these tests.

  • Tell your doctor about all other medicines you take, including pain relievers like ibuprofen, as they can interact.
  • Avoid pregnancy during treatment. Women need to use birth control during treatment and for 6 months after. Men should use birth control during treatment and for 3 months after.
  • This medicine can make you tired. Be careful when driving or using machines.
