How to Use

Dosage

For adults and children over 8 years, the recommended dose is 1 sachet (12g) 1-2 times a day. For children 4-7 years, 1 sachet (6g) 1-2 times a day. For children 2-3 years, 1 sachet (6g) once a day.

Method

Dissolve one sachet (6g or 12g) of powder in 2 decilitres (one glass) of liquid: water, juice, tea, or coffee. For children under 8 years, a 6g sachet can be dissolved in 100 ml (half a glass) of liquid. Mix well and drink.

Important

Do not exceed two sachets (12g each) per day for regular use.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • stomach pain
  • bloating
  • diarrhea
  • nausea
RARE
  • vomiting
  • urgent need to pass stool
  • inability to control bowels (faecal incontinence)
  • allergic reactions (e.g., redness, rash, itching, swelling of face, mouth, or throat, hives, allergic shock)
  • electrolyte imbalance
  • dehydration (especially in elderly)

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to macrogol.
  • Do not take if you have a blocked bowel, a hole in your bowel wall, severe inflammatory bowel disease (like Crohn's disease), or stomach pain of unknown cause.
  • Talk to your doctor if your constipation has worsened quickly, if you have stomach pain, fever, or other stomach problems with constipation, or if you get sudden stomach pain or rectal bleeding after taking Pegulos.
  • Pegulos may reduce the absorption of other medicines or make thickening agents less effective if you need to thicken liquids to swallow.
  • Do not use Pegulos for longer than three months in children without a doctor's consultation.
