How to Use

Dosage

For adults and children over 8 years: 1 sachet (12 g) 1–2 times a day. For children 4-7 years: 1 sachet (6 g) 1–2 times a day. For children 2-3 years: 1 sachet (6 g) once a day.

Method

Dissolve the powder from one sachet (6 or 12 g) in 200 ml (one glass) of liquid (water, juice, tea, or coffee). For children under 8 years, a 6 g sachet can be dissolved in 100 ml (half a glass) of liquid if needed.

Important

For adults and children over 12 years, the maximum daily dose for hardened stool (fecal impaction) is 10 sachets (120 g). For chronic constipation, the maximum is 2 sachets (24 g) per day.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Abdominal pain
  • Bloating or stomach swelling
  • Diarrhea (may cause soreness around the anus in children)
  • Nausea
RARE
  • Vomiting
  • Urgent need to defecate
  • Fecal incontinence
  • Allergic reactions (e.g., redness, rash, itching, swelling of the face, mouth or throat, hives, anaphylactic shock)
  • Electrolyte imbalance
  • Dehydration (especially in elderly)

Important Warnings

  • Do not take Pegulos if you are allergic to macrogol.
  • Do not use if you have a bowel obstruction, a perforated bowel wall, or severe inflammatory bowel disease (such as Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis).
  • Talk to your doctor if your constipation worsens suddenly or if you have abdominal pain of unknown cause.
  • Seek immediate medical help if you experience sudden severe abdominal pain or rectal bleeding after taking Pegulos.
  • Pegulos may reduce the absorption of other medicines.
