Pazopanib Zentiva

Pazopanib Zentiva is a type of medicine called a protein kinase inhibitor, which works by blocking proteins that help cancer cells grow and spread, and is used to treat advanced kidney cancer and certain soft tissue sarcomas.

How to Use

Dosage

The usual dose is 800 mg of pazopanib once daily.

Method

Take the tablets whole with water, at least two hours after a meal or one hour before a meal. Do not split or crush the tablets. Take at approximately the same time each day.

Important

The maximum daily dose is 800 mg.

RARE
  • Stroke
  • Temporary disturbance of blood circulation in the brain
  • Heart attack or a part of the heart lacking blood (myocardial infarction)
  • Partial lack of oxygen in the heart muscle (myocardial ischemia)
  • Blood clots associated with reduced red blood cells and clotting cells (thrombotic microangiopathy), which can damage organs such as the brain and kidneys.
  • Increased red blood cell count
  • Sudden shortness of breath, especially with chest pain and/or rapid breathing (pulmonary embolism)
  • Severe bleeding in the digestive system (e.g., stomach, esophagus, or intestine), kidneys, vagina, or brain.
  • Heart rhythm disorder (QT prolongation)
  • Stomach or intestinal perforation
  • Abnormal connection between two parts of the intestine (fistula)
  • Heavy or irregular menstrual periods
  • Sudden, severe increase in blood pressure (hypertensive crisis)
  • Pancreatitis
  • Liver inflammation, liver dysfunction, or liver damage
  • Yellowing of skin and eyes (jaundice)
  • Inflammation of the membrane lining the abdominal cavity (peritonitis)
  • Runny nose
  • Rash that can be itchy or inflamed (non-raised, raised, or blistering)
  • Increased bowel motility (frequent bowel movements)
  • Increased skin sensitivity to sunlight
  • Reduced skin sensitivity, especially on the skin
  • Skin ulcer that does not heal
  • Lung inflammation (pneumonitis)
  • Widening and weakening of a blood vessel wall or rupture of a blood vessel wall (aneurysms and arterial dissections).

Important Warnings

  • Do not take Pazopanib Zentiva if you are allergic to pazopanib or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have heart disease, heart failure, or have had a heart attack.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have liver disease.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have previously had a collapsed lung.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have had bleeding, blood clots, or problems with narrowed arteries.

  • Talk to your doctor if you have had stomach or intestinal problems like a hole (perforation) or an abnormal connection (fistula).
  • Talk to your doctor if you have thyroid problems.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have kidney problems.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have or have had an aneurysm or a ruptured blood vessel.
  • Pazopanib Zentiva can raise your blood pressure; it will be checked before and during treatment.
  • Your doctor will stop this medicine at least 7 days before surgery, as it can affect wound healing.
  • Avoid driving or operating machinery if you feel dizzy, tired, weak, or unwell.
  • Do not drink grapefruit juice during treatment, as it can increase the risk of side effects.
  • Do not use if pregnant. Use reliable contraception during treatment and for at least 2 weeks after stopping. Male patients with a pregnant or potentially pregnant partner must use condoms during treatment and for 2 weeks after the last dose.
  • Do not breastfeed during Pazopanib Zentiva treatment.
  • Seek immediate medical attention if you experience severe headaches, vision changes, confusion, seizures, or very high blood pressure, as these could be signs of serious conditions like brain swelling or a hypertensive crisis.
  • Seek immediate medical attention for any signs of severe bleeding, such as blood in stool/urine, stomach pain, or coughing up blood.
  • Seek immediate medical attention for severe stomach pain, nausea/vomiting, fever, or bloody/foul-smelling discharge, as these can be signs of perforations or fistulas.
  • Seek immediate medical attention for yellowing of skin/eyes, dark urine, fatigue, nausea, appetite loss, right-sided abdominal pain, or easy bruising, as these can be signs of liver problems.
  • Seek immediate medical attention for sharp chest pain, shortness of breath, rapid breathing, leg pain, or swelling in arms/hands/legs/feet, as these can be signs of blood clots.
  • Seek immediate medical attention for easy bruising, high blood pressure, fever, confusion, drowsiness, seizures, or decreased urine output, as these can be signs of thrombotic microangiopathy.
  • Seek immediate medical attention for irregular heartbeat, seizures, confusion, muscle cramps/spasms, or decreased urine output, as these can be signs of tumor lysis syndrome.
  • Seek immediate medical attention for fever, flu-like symptoms (cough, fatigue, body aches) that don't go away, shortness of breath, painful urination, or red, warm, swollen, painful wounds, as these can be signs of serious infections.
  • Seek immediate medical attention for shortness of breath or a cough that doesn't get better, as these could be signs of lung inflammation.
  • Tell your doctor if you experience any changes in your vision.
