How to Use

Dosage

The usual dose is 800 mg once a day. This can be taken as two 400 mg tablets or four 200 mg tablets.

Method

Swallow tablets whole with water. Do not split or crush them. Take the medicine without food, at least two hours after a meal or one hour before a meal. Take it at around the same time each day.

  • Nosebleed
  • Infections
  • Difficulty sleeping
  • Chest pain, shortness of breath, leg pain, swelling in legs/feet (possible signs of blood clots)
  • Heart not pumping blood effectively (heart dysfunction)
  • Slow heart rate
  • Bleeding from mouth, rectum, or lungs; coughing up blood
  • Dizziness
  • Blurred vision
  • Hot flashes
  • Swelling in face, hands, ankles, feet, eyelids due to fluid buildup
  • Tingling, weakness, or numbness in hands, arms, legs, or feet
  • Nail problems
  • Feeling cold with chills, heavy sweating, dehydration
  • Muscle, joint, tendon pain, muscle spasms
  • Hoarseness
  • Cough
  • Hiccups
  • Lung collapse (pneumothorax)
RARE
  • Swelling of the brain (RPLS) with speech loss, vision changes, seizures, confusion, or high blood pressure
  • Sudden, severe high blood pressure (hypertensive crisis) with severe chest pain, severe headache, blurred vision, confusion, nausea, vomiting, severe anxiety, shortness of breath, seizures, or fainting
  • Heart attack, heart dysfunction or failure, or changes in heart rhythm (QT prolongation) leading to very fast heartbeat or sudden loss of consciousness
  • Stroke or mini-stroke (TIA) with numbness or weakness on one side of the body, difficulty speaking, headache, or dizziness
  • Severe bleeding from the digestive system, lungs, kidneys, mouth, vagina, or brain, including blood in stool (black stool), blood in urine, stomach pain, or coughing/vomiting blood
  • Holes in the stomach or bowel (perforation) or abnormal connections between parts of the bowel (fistula) with severe stomach pain, nausea/vomiting, fever, or bloody/foul-smelling discharge from the abdomen
  • Liver problems (inflammation, damage, or failure) with yellow skin/eyes (jaundice), dark urine, fatigue, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, pain in upper right abdomen, or easy bruising
  • Blood clots in small vessels (Thrombotic microangiopathy, TMA) with easy bruising, high blood pressure, fever, confusion, drowsiness, seizures, or reduced urine output
  • Tumor lysis syndrome (rapid breakdown of cancer cells) with irregular heartbeat, seizures, confusion, muscle cramps, or reduced urine output
  • Serious infections with fever, flu-like symptoms (cough, fatigue, body aches), shortness of breath/wheezing, painful urination, or red/warm/swollen/sore wounds/scratches
  • Lung inflammation (pneumonitis) with shortness of breath or persistent cough
  • Reduced thyroid hormone production with weight gain or fatigue
  • Vision problems (retinal detachment/rupture) leading to blurred or decreased vision
  • Increased red blood cells
  • Heavy or irregular periods
  • Inflammation of the pancreas (pancreatitis)
  • Inflammation of the lining of the abdomen (peritonitis)
  • Overactive bowel
  • Increased skin sensitivity to sunlight
  • Reduced skin sensation, especially on the skin
  • Skin wounds that do not heal
  • Enlarged or weakened blood vessel (aneurysm) or blood vessel tear

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to pazopanib or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Tell your doctor if you have heart disease, liver disease, heart failure, a previous heart attack, or lung collapse.
  • Inform your doctor if you have had bleeding problems, blood clots, or narrowed arteries.
  • Tell your doctor if you have had stomach or bowel problems like a perforation (hole) or fistula (an abnormal connection between parts of the bowel).
  • Inform your doctor if you have thyroid problems or kidney problems.

  • Tell your doctor if you have had an aneurysm (a weakened and bulging blood vessel) or a tear in a blood vessel wall.
  • This medicine can raise your blood pressure. Your doctor will check it before and during treatment.
  • If you are having surgery, your doctor will stop this medicine at least seven days before to help your wound heal properly.
  • Do not drink grapefruit juice while taking this medicine, as it can increase side effects.
  • This medicine is not recommended if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding. Use reliable contraception during treatment and for two weeks after. This medicine may affect fertility.
