How to Use

Dosage

Initial: One vaginal suppository into the vagina every evening for 2-3 weeks. Maintenance: One vaginal suppository into the vagina 1-2 times a week.

Method

Lie on your back with bent knees. Insert the suppository deep into the vagina with your finger.

Important

Do not use more than one suppository per day.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Breast tenderness or discomfort
  • Local irritation or burning in the vagina
RARE
  • Feeling sick (nausea)
  • Unusual vaginal bleeding
  • Allergic reactions (like rash or fever)

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you have or have had breast cancer or other cancer sensitive to estrogen, or if it is suspected.
  • Do not use if you have unexplained vaginal bleeding.
  • Do not use if you have an abnormal thickening of the womb lining that has not been treated.
  • Do not use if you have or have had a blood clot in a vein (like in the leg or lungs) or in an artery (like a heart attack or stroke), or if you have a blood clotting disorder.
  • Do not use if you have liver disease and your liver tests are not normal.

  • Do not use if you have a rare inherited blood disease called porphyria.
  • Do not use if you are allergic to estriol or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Stop using and contact your doctor if you become pregnant.
  • Stop using and contact your doctor if your face, tongue, or throat swells, or you have difficulty swallowing or hives with breathing difficulties.
  • Stop using and contact your doctor if you notice signs of a blood clot, such as painful swelling and redness in the leg, sudden chest pain, or difficulty breathing.
  • Stop using and contact your doctor if your skin or eyes turn yellow (jaundice), which could be a sign of liver problems.
  • Stop using and contact your doctor if you get a severe new headache (like a migraine) or a large increase in blood pressure (symptoms may include headache, tiredness, dizziness).

Category D

The classification depends on the dosage form. Systemic use (for example estrogen patch, tablet, gel): Avoid use in older adults. In systemic use, consider potential adverse effects, such as risk of cardiovascular diseases and venous thromboembolism. Consider potential interactions.
