How to Use

Dosage

The usual dose is 1-2 tablets up to 3 times a day or as needed.

Method

Take by mouth.

Important

Do not take more than 6 tablets in 24 hours.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Nausea
  • Insomnia
  • Restlessness
  • Fast heartbeat (tachycardia)
RARE
  • Hypersensitivity reactions (including rash)
  • Blood disorders, such as low platelet count (causing easy bleeding or bruising) and low white blood cell count
  • Severe allergic reactions, including sudden swelling of the skin and mucous membranes (angioedema) that can be life-threatening
  • Severe skin reactions
  • Metabolic acidosis (a serious condition where blood becomes too acidic), especially in severely ill patients

Important Warnings

  • Do not use Paramax Comp if you are allergic to paracetamol or caffeine, if you are under 12 years old, or if you have severe liver problems.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have severe liver or kidney disease, including liver disease caused by alcohol. Do not drink alcohol while taking this medicine, as it can make alcohol's effects stronger.
  • Limit drinks with caffeine (like coffee, tea, cola), as too much caffeine can make you irritable and tense.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have long-term malnutrition, a lack of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (an enzyme), or Gilbert's syndrome.
  • Tell your doctor right away if you have severe kidney problems, a serious blood infection (sepsis), are very malnourished, have chronic alcoholism, or are taking the antibiotic flucloxacillin, as there's a risk of metabolic acidosis (a serious blood condition). Symptoms include trouble breathing, drowsiness, nausea, and vomiting.

  • Be careful if you take other medicines that affect your liver, if you are dehydrated, have a long-term nutritional illness, or if you have asthma and are allergic to aspirin.
  • Do not use this medicine with other paracetamol-containing painkillers without asking a doctor. Never take more paracetamol than recommended, as too much can cause severe liver damage. Contact a doctor immediately if you think you've taken too much, even if you feel fine.
