How to Use

Dosage

For adults and children over 15 years (>55 kg): Take 1–2 tablets (500–1 000 mg) at a time, every 4–6 hours as needed.

Method

Swallow the tablet whole with plenty of water. You can also dissolve it in a glass of water, stir well, and drink.

Important

Do not take more than 6 tablets (3 000 mg) in 24 hours. In certain situations (e.g., weighing less than 50 kg, liver problems, dehydration, or chronic malnutrition), the maximum daily dose is 2 000 mg.

Possible Side Effects

RARE
  • Blood problems, such as a decrease in red blood cells, white blood cells, or platelets, and increased bleeding or bruising.
  • Allergic reactions, including rash, itching, swelling of the face, lips or tongue, and difficulty breathing, which can be severe.
  • Mood changes (depression, confusion, hallucinations) and neurological symptoms (tremor, headache, dizziness, drowsiness, visual disturbances).
  • Swelling, which means extra fluid building up under the skin.
  • Stomach pain, bleeding from the stomach or gut, diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting.
  • Liver problems, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes), and liver damage.
  • Serious skin reactions, including blisters, skin peeling, or widespread rashes (like Stevens-Johnson syndrome).
  • Kidney damage, cloudy urine, blood in the urine, or inability to urinate.
  • Breathing difficulties (bronchospasm), especially if you are sensitive to aspirin or other pain relievers.
  • General feeling of being unwell, fever, low blood sugar, and too much acid in the blood (metabolic acidosis).

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to paracetamol or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Not suitable for children under 6 years of age.
  • Do not use with other medicines containing paracetamol to avoid severe liver damage.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have liver or kidney disease.
  • If you regularly drink large amounts of alcohol, do not take more than 4 tablets in 24 hours.

  • Talk to your doctor if you are dehydrated or have chronic malnutrition.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have asthma and are sensitive to aspirin or similar pain relievers.
  • Do not exceed the recommended dose. An overdose can cause severe liver damage.
  • Consult a doctor if your pain does not improve after 5 days or fever after 3 days, or if your condition worsens.
  • Headaches caused by overuse of pain relievers should not be treated by increasing the dose.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category A

Suitable for older adults. The recommended maximum dose for long-term use is 2 grams per day. Can be used concurrently with warfarin only if INR values are monitored. Consider paracetamol in OTC drugs and combination products. Risk of poisoning with daily doses over 4 grams. (updated 14.4.2025)
