How to Use

Dosage

For adults over 16, take 1/2 to 1 tablet every 4 to 6 hours.

Method

You can split the tablet into two equal parts. Always take this medicine exactly as instructed by your doctor or pharmacist.

Important

Do not take more than 3 tablets in one day. Do not exceed the maximum dose.

Possible Side Effects

RARE
  • Changes in blood counts, like anemia (low red blood cells).
  • Allergic reactions like itching, swelling of the skin, skin rash, or hives.
  • Headache.
  • Stomach problems like diarrhea, feeling sick (nausea), or throwing up (vomiting).
  • Liver problems, including changes in how the liver works, liver cell death, swelling, and slight fever.
  • A drop in white blood cells, making you more likely to get infections. If you get a fever or signs of infection, stop taking this medicine and see a doctor right away.
  • A very serious, life-threatening allergic reaction (anaphylactic shock).
  • Severe skin reactions, such as a rash that keeps coming back in the same spot, worsening rash with blisters or sores on skin and mucous membranes (like Stevens-Johnson syndrome or toxic epidermal necrolysis).
  • Very low blood sugar levels.
  • Narrowing of the airways, causing trouble breathing.
  • Problems with kidney function.
  • A serious medical condition where there is too much acid in the blood (metabolic acidosis), especially in people who are very sick and taking paracetamol.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to paracetamol or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Do not use if you have severe liver or kidney problems.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have alcohol problems or liver disease. Do not take Para-Tabs with alcohol.
  • Talk to your doctor if you are taking other medicines that can harm the liver.
  • Talk to your doctor if you are taking blood-thinning medicines.

  • Talk to your doctor if your fever has lasted over 4 days or if you have another infection.
  • Use this medicine only for a short time. Taking it for too long or in high doses can cause serious damage to your liver and kidneys.
  • Do not take other medicines that contain paracetamol at the same time.
  • Seek medical help right away if you have very bad breathing, feel sleepy, sick to your stomach, or throw up, as these could be signs of a serious condition called metabolic acidosis.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category A

Suitable for older adults. The recommended maximum dose for long-term use is 2 grams per day. Can be used concurrently with warfarin only if INR values are monitored. Consider paracetamol in OTC drugs and combination products. Risk of poisoning with daily doses over 4 grams. (updated 14.4.2025)
