How to Use

Dosage

Adults usually take 1-2 tablets (500-1000 mg) as needed.

Method

Take by mouth.

Important

Do not exceed 6 tablets (3000 mg) in 24 hours.

Possible Side Effects

RARE
  • Changes in blood counts, anemia
  • Allergic reactions, itchy skin, swelling, rash, hives
  • Headache, stomach problems, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting
  • Liver problems, liver cell death, swelling, fever
  • Decrease in white blood cells (agranulocytosis), leading to lower resistance to infections
  • Life-threatening allergic reaction (anaphylactic shock)
  • Drug rash that keeps reappearing in the same spot, worsening rash with blisters or damage to mucous membranes, severe skin reactions (like Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis)
  • Very low blood sugar
  • Tightening of airways (bronchospasm)
  • Liver damage, kidney problems, mucous membrane damage
  • A serious condition that can increase blood acidity (metabolic acidosis), especially in very sick patients using paracetamol.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to paracetamol or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not use if you have severe liver or kidney problems.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have alcohol problems or liver disease, and do not use this medicine with alcohol.
  • Do not use other medicines that contain paracetamol at the same time.
  • Long-term use or using too much paracetamol can damage your liver or kidneys.

  • Stop taking this medicine and seek immediate medical help if you get severe allergic reactions, like purple skin spots, skin peeling, or blisters.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category A

Suitable for older adults. The recommended maximum dose for long-term use is 2 grams per day. Can be used concurrently with warfarin only if INR values are monitored. Consider paracetamol in OTC drugs and combination products. Risk of poisoning with daily doses over 4 grams. (updated 14.4.2025)
