How to Use

Dosage

For adults, 1-2 tablets up to 3 times a day.

Method

Do not take tablets more often than every 4 hours. Always use the lowest effective dose for the shortest time. For continuous use over 3 days, only with a doctor's prescription.

Important

The maximum recommended daily dose of paracetamol is 3 g (3000 mg).

Possible Side Effects

RARE
  • Allergic reaction (e.g., rash, itching, difficulty breathing, swelling of lips, tongue, throat, or face)
  • Skin peeling, rash, or blisters
  • Mouth sores
  • Breathing problems (especially if you have had them before with aspirin or other anti-inflammatory painkillers)
  • Blood problems, such as unusual bleeding or bruising
  • A severe condition that can make the blood too acidic (metabolic acidosis), typically in patients with severe underlying illness using paracetamol.
  • Liver damage in connection with heavy alcohol consumption.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to paracetamol or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not use without a doctor's advice if you have heart failure, kidney or liver disease, or alcohol problems.
  • Panadol Zapp is for temporary use. If symptoms continue for a long time or recur often, contact a doctor.
  • Contains paracetamol. Too much paracetamol can cause serious liver damage.
  • Do not use this medicine if you are already taking other prescription or over-the-counter medicines containing paracetamol for pain, fever, cold, or flu symptoms.

  • Do not use other painkillers at the same time without a doctor's prescription.
  • Talk to your doctor before using if you have liver or kidney problems, are underweight or malnourished, drink alcohol regularly, or are taking certain other medications (e.g., metoclopramide, cholestyramine, warfarin, epilepsy medications, flucloxacillin).
  • Contact a doctor immediately if you experience severe breathing difficulties (deep and fast breathing), drowsiness, nausea, or vomiting, as these can be signs of metabolic acidosis.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category A

Suitable for older adults. The recommended maximum dose for long-term use is 2 grams per day. Can be used concurrently with warfarin only if INR values are monitored. Consider paracetamol in OTC drugs and combination products. Risk of poisoning with daily doses over 4 grams. (updated 14.4.2025)
