How to Use

Dosage

For adults, take 1 to 2 tablets every 4 to 6 hours. Do not take more than 3 times a day.

Method

Dissolve the tablet completely in about 1 cup (1 dl) of water. The drink should be clear and have no taste.

Important

The most you can take in one day is 3 grams (3000 mg) of paracetamol.

Possible Side Effects

RARE
  • Skin rash, itching, trouble breathing, or swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat.
  • Skin peeling, red rashes, or blisters.
  • Sores inside the mouth.
  • Breathing problems if you've had them before with medicines like aspirin or other anti-inflammatory drugs.
  • Changes in blood, like easy bleeding or bruising.
  • A serious condition where your blood becomes too acidic (metabolic acidosis), with symptoms like severe trouble breathing, feeling sleepy, sick to your stomach, or vomiting. This is mostly seen in very sick people taking paracetamol.
  • Liver damage if you drink a lot of alcohol.

Important Warnings

  • Don't use this medicine if you are allergic to paracetamol or any other ingredients in it.
  • Ask your doctor before using if you have heart failure, liver or kidney problems, or if you drink alcohol often.
  • This medicine is for short-term use. If your symptoms last a long time, come back often, or if you don't feel better after 3 days, talk to a doctor.
  • This medicine has paracetamol. Taking too much paracetamol can seriously harm your liver. Don't take other medicines with paracetamol at the same time for pain or fever.
  • Do not use other pain medicines at the same time unless your doctor tells you to.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category A

Suitable for older adults. The recommended maximum dose for long-term use is 2 grams per day. Can be used concurrently with warfarin only if INR values are monitored. Consider paracetamol in OTC drugs and combination products. Risk of poisoning with daily doses over 4 grams. (updated 14.4.2025)
