How to Use

Dosage

Adults: 1-2 tablets or effervescent tablets, 1 to 4 times a day. Children over 12 years old: 1-2 tablets or effervescent tablets every 6 hours as needed.

Method

Swallow tablets with enough water. Dissolve effervescent tablets in half a glass of water.

Important

Do not take more than 8 tablets (for adults) or 6 tablets (for children over 12) in one day.

Possible Side Effects

RARE
  • Allergic reactions, including swelling of the face or throat, or severe reactions (anaphylactic shock).
  • Trouble breathing, slow breathing, or wheezing.
  • Feeling very tired, sleepy, dizzy, or confused.
  • Feeling sick (nausea) or throwing up (vomiting), constipation, or dry mouth.
  • Liver or pancreas problems.
  • Severe skin rashes with blisters or sores.
  • Itching or trouble urinating.
  • Headaches, seizures, or ringing in the ears.
  • Low blood pressure.
  • Changes in blood tests (low platelets or white blood cells).
  • Small eye pupils.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to paracetamol, codeine, or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Do not give to children under 12 years old.
  • Do not use if you are breastfeeding or if there's a risk of premature birth.
  • Do not use if you have severe liver problems or serious breathing issues, like an asthma attack.
  • Do not take more than the recommended dose and avoid taking other medicines with paracetamol.

  • Do not drink alcohol while using this medicine, as it can cause severe drowsiness or breathing problems.
  • If you get a worsening skin rash with blisters or sores, stop taking Panacod right away and see a doctor.
  • This medicine can make you sleepy, affect your vision, and make it difficult to drive or use machines safely.
  • Tell your doctor if you have asthma, liver or kidney problems, or are sensitive to aspirin or anti-inflammatory drugs.
  • If your pain gets worse after taking the medicine, do not take more without talking to your doctor first.
  • Long-term use of this medicine can lead to dependence.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category A

Suitable for older adults. The recommended maximum dose for long-term use is 2 grams per day. Can be used concurrently with warfarin only if INR values are monitored. Consider paracetamol in OTC drugs and combination products. Risk of poisoning with daily doses over 4 grams. (updated 14.4.2025)
