How to Use

Dosage

The dose for children (over 3 months old) is 15 mg per kg body weight. Consult a doctor or pharmacist for specific dosage amounts based on your child's weight.

Method

Shake the bottle well before each use. Take orally. Ensure at least 4 hours between doses.

Important

Do not exceed 45 mg per kg body weight per day, or 3 doses in 24 hours.

Possible Side Effects

RARE
  • Allergic reactions
  • Difficulty breathing (more likely if previously reacted to other pain relievers like ibuprofen or aspirin)
  • Unexplained bruising or bleeding
  • Nausea, sudden weight loss, loss of appetite, and yellowing of eyes and skin (jaundice)
  • Severe skin reactions like rash and itching, sometimes with swelling of the mouth or face, or shortness of breath
  • Rashes with blisters and damage to mucous membranes
  • A serious condition called metabolic acidosis, where the blood becomes too acidic, especially in very sick patients using paracetamol

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if your child is allergic to paracetamol or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not use if your child has a sugar intolerance, as this medicine contains maltitol and sorbitol.
  • Do not use other pain medicines containing paracetamol at the same time.
  • Talk to a doctor before use if your child has liver or kidney problems.
  • Talk to a doctor before use if your child has heart problems or is malnourished.

  • Contact a doctor if fever lasts more than 3 days or if the cause is unclear.
  • Contact a doctor if fever is accompanied by severe pain.
  • This medicine is for temporary use. If symptoms continue for a long time or occur often, contact a doctor.
  • Tell your doctor right away if your child has severe kidney problems, sepsis (a serious infection), is very malnourished, has chronic alcoholism, or is taking flucloxacillin (an antibiotic).
  • If your child develops a worsening rash with blisters or damage to mucous membranes, stop using this medicine immediately and contact a doctor.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category A

Suitable for older adults. The recommended maximum dose for long-term use is 2 grams per day. Can be used concurrently with warfarin only if INR values are monitored. Consider paracetamol in OTC drugs and combination products. Risk of poisoning with daily doses over 4 grams. (updated 14.4.2025)
