How to Use

Dosage

Adults should take half to one tablet every 4-6 hours, as needed. Take 1 to 3 times a day.

Method

Take the tablet by mouth. You can take it with or without food. You can split the tablet in half if it's easier to swallow.

Important

Do not take more than 3 tablets (3000 mg paracetamol) in one day (24 hours).

Possible Side Effects

RARE
  • Hives or skin rashes.
  • Changes in liver tests that might mean liver damage.
  • Allergic reactions, like a widespread rash, red skin, fever, swelling of the face or throat, or low blood pressure.
  • Very serious skin reactions with blisters or sores.
  • Breathing problems, especially if you have had issues with aspirin or other similar pain relievers.
  • Low number of platelets (cells that help blood clot), which can lead to easy bruising or bleeding.
  • Low number of white blood cells (cells that fight infection), which can make you get sick more easily.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use this medicine if you are allergic to paracetamol or any other ingredient in it.
  • Do not use this medicine if you have very bad liver problems.
  • Do not take with other medicines that have paracetamol in them. This helps prevent taking too much.
  • If you drink a lot of alcohol, talk to your doctor before taking this medicine.
  • Stop taking this medicine and see a doctor right away if you get a severe skin rash, blisters, or sores on your skin or in your mouth.

  • Contact your doctor right away if you have trouble breathing quickly and deeply, feel very tired or sleepy, or feel sick to your stomach and vomit. These could be signs of a serious issue with your body's acid levels (metabolic acidosis).
  • Pamol 1000 mg is not for children.
  • Never take more than the amount suggested. Too much can cause serious liver damage. If you think you took too much, get medical help right away.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category A

Suitable for older adults. The recommended maximum dose for long-term use is 2 grams per day. Can be used concurrently with warfarin only if INR values are monitored. Consider paracetamol in OTC drugs and combination products. Risk of poisoning with daily doses over 4 grams. (updated 14.4.2025)
