Palonosetron helps stop nausea and vomiting caused by cancer chemotherapy in adults, teenagers, and children older than one month.
For adults, the usual dose is 250 micrograms. For children (1 month to 17 years), the doctor calculates the dose based on body weight, up to a maximum of 1500 micrograms.
A doctor or nurse will give this medicine as an injection or a slow drip into a vein about 30 minutes before your chemotherapy starts.
The maximum daily dose for children is 1500 micrograms. For adults, it is typically a single dose.
