How to Use

Dosage

For adults and young people aged 12 and over, the usual starting dose is 10 mg every 12 hours. Your doctor may start with 5 mg to lessen side effects and will adjust the dose for your pain.

Method

Swallow the prolonged-release tablet whole with half a glass of water, with or without food. Take your dose in the morning and evening at the same time (e.g., 8 AM and 8 PM). Do not chew, break, or crush the tablet, as this can release too much medicine at once and be dangerous.

Important

For non-cancer pain, the usual maximum daily dose is 40 mg, though higher doses may be needed. For cancer pain, doses are usually 80-120 mg, and in some cases, can be increased up to 400 mg per day.
