How to Use

Dosage

The usual starting dose is one 5 mg capsule every 6 hours.

Method

Swallow the capsules whole with liquid, with or without food. Do not take with alcohol.

Important

Your doctor will decide your maximum daily dose based on your pain. Do not take two doses within 4 hours.

  • Changes in perception (e.g., feeling unreal, hallucinations), decreased sex drive, restlessness, extreme emotional reactions, extreme happiness
  • Muscle stiffness or weakness, coordination problems, muscle twitching, seizures, speech problems, fainting, tingling, numbness, migraine, taste changes, memory loss
  • Changes in tear production, constricted pupils, blurred vision
  • Cold sores (herpes simplex)
  • Lymph node disease (lymphadenopathy)
  • Increased appetite
  • Low blood pressure, dizziness when standing up
  • Bleeding gums, black stools, stained or damaged teeth
  • Itchy rash (hives), sensitivity to light
  • Muscle cramps
  • Blood in urine (hematuria)
  • Weight changes (gain or loss), inflammation of tissue under the skin (cellulitis)

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to oxycodone or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not take if you have severe breathing problems or very low oxygen levels in your blood.
  • This medicine contains an opioid and can lead to dependence and addiction. Always follow your doctor's instructions.
  • Never inject the capsule contents into a vein, as this can cause severe injury or death.
  • Do not drink alcohol or grapefruit juice while taking this medicine, as it increases the risk of serious side effects.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category C
