Oxycodone Orifarm is a strong pain medicine (an opioid) used to treat severe pain in adults and adolescents (12 years and older) when other pain relievers have not worked.
For adults and adolescents 12 years or older who haven't taken opioids before, the usual starting dose is 5 ml of the 1 mg/ml solution or 0.5 ml of the 10 mg/ml solution (equal to 5 mg oxycodone hydrochloride) every 6 hours.
Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Use the provided syringe to measure your dose. Place the syringe tip into your mouth, then carefully press the plunger to release the liquid and swallow. Rinse the syringe after use.
Your doctor will decide your maximum daily dose based on your pain and individual needs.
Suitable for older adults, with specific precautions. Sedative. Reduce the dose already in mild renal impairment. Increases the risk of confusion and falling. Need for laxative is often necessary. Consider potential interactions. Avoid grapefruit. (updated 24.3.2025)
