Initially, 4-8 mg daily (2-4 tablets of 2 mg strength or 4-8 tablets of 1 mg strength) for a few weeks. After that, the dose is gradually reduced to 1-2 mg daily. Your doctor will determine the exact dosage.
Swallow the tablets with water or another liquid. Take the entire daily dose at once, around the same time each day.
Do not exceed the maximum daily dose prescribed by your doctor. This maximum dose should not be used for more than a few weeks.
The classification depends on the dosage form. Systemic use (for example estrogen patch, tablet, gel): Avoid use in older adults.
