How to Use

Dosage

For children aged 1-5 years: 1 spray in each nostril, 1-2 times daily. For children aged 6-11 years: 1-2 sprays in each nostril, 2-3 times daily, as needed.

Method

Gently blow your nose. Remove the cap. For first use, pump 4 times to prime the spray. Hold the bottle upright, insert the tip into one nostril, and spray while breathing in gently. Repeat for the other nostril. Clean the tip after use.

Important

Do not use more than 3 sprays in each nostril per day. Do not use for more than 5 days in a row.

  • Nosebleeds
  • Allergic reactions (e.g., rash, itching)
  • Temporary blurred vision
  • Irregular or fast heartbeat
  • Sleep problems
  • Dizziness
  • Trembling

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to any ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not use if you recently had head surgery through your nose or mouth.
  • Do not use if you have a chronic dry nose (atrophic rhinitis).
  • Do not use if you have narrow-angle glaucoma (high eye pressure).
  • This medicine is not for children under 1 year old.

  • Talk to your doctor before use if you have high blood pressure, heart problems, an overactive thyroid, diabetes, an enlarged prostate, or a rare adrenal gland tumor.
  • Do not use this medicine if you are taking or have taken certain antidepressants (MAO inhibitors, tricyclic or tetracyclic antidepressants) in the last two weeks.
  • Using this medicine for too long (more than 5 days) can make your stuffy nose worse; consult a doctor if congestion continues.
  • Stop using Otrivin and get immediate medical help if you have difficulty breathing or swallowing, swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat, or severe itching with a red rash or hives.
