How to Use

Dosage

One spray into each nostril as needed, up to 3 times a day.

Method

Wait at least 6 hours between doses.

Important

Do not use more than 3 sprays per nostril in one day.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Nosebleed
  • Nasal discomfort, stuffy nose, dry nose, nose pain
  • Dry mouth, dry or irritated throat
  • Headache, dizziness, changes in taste, burning sensation in the nose
  • Nausea
RARE
  • Nasal sores, sneezing, runny nose, discomfort in the nasal area
  • Sore throat, cough, hoarseness, difficulty swallowing, sudden muscle spasm in the throat, throat swelling, thirst
  • Stomach problems
  • Changes in smell, tremor
  • Discomfort, tiredness, insomnia
  • Eye irritation, dry eyes, eye swelling, red eyes, impaired vision, difficulty focusing, dilated pupils, flashing lights, increased eye pressure, glaucoma, blurred vision, halos around bright lights, eye pain
  • Palpitations, increased heart rate, irregular heartbeat
  • Difficulty urinating
  • Drug reaction (e.g., swelling, rash, itching), hives

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are under 18 years old.
  • Do not use if you are allergic to xylometazoline, ipratropium, or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not use if you are allergic to atropine or similar medicines (like hyoscyamine or scopolamine).
  • Do not use if you have had brain surgery through your nose or mouth.
  • Do not use if you have glaucoma (high pressure in the eye).

  • Do not use if you have a very dry nose (atrophic rhinitis or rhinitis sicca).
  • If your symptoms do not improve or worsen after 7 days, contact your doctor.
  • Using this medicine for too long or too much can make your stuffy nose worse or cause swelling in your nose lining.
  • Do not spray into or around your eyes. If it gets in your eyes, rinse well with cold water and see a doctor if eye problems continue.
  • Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using if you have heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, an overactive thyroid, difficulty urinating, a history of nosebleeds, gut blockage, cystic fibrosis, or a tumor of the adrenal gland.
  • Stop using immediately and get medical help if you have signs of a severe allergic reaction like trouble breathing or swallowing, swelling of your face or throat, or severe itching with a rash.
  • Do not use during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless your doctor says it's okay.
  • This medicine can make your vision blurry, dizzy, or tired. If you feel any of these, do not drive or use machines.
